Humboldt State's Williams, Hollingsworth Earn Softball Pitcher & Player of the Week Honors
SAN RAMON – Humboldt State juniors Madison Williams and Tiffany Hollingsworth were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for the week of Feb. 8-14.
CCAA Softball Pitcher of the Week
For the second straight week, Williams had a dominating performance in the circle. This week, the Brentwood native snagged two complete game victories in the Lumberjacks four-game series against defending CCAA Champion Cal State Monterey Bay.
In her 14 innings of work, Williams allowed just two earned run on 11 hits, while striking out 20 hitters.
She fanned 11 in HSU's 5-1 win in Friday's nightcap, marking her third 10-plus strikeout performance this season. The following day Williams went the distance once again, allowing just one earned run on six hit and striking out nine.

CCAA Softball Player of the Week
Hollingsworth drove in five funs and hit a pair of home runs as she helped the Lumberjacks open CCAA play with a 4-0 record and more impressively led HSU to its first four-game series sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay since 2007.
The San Leandro native hit .444, while also compiling a 1.222 slugging percentage and a .706 on-base percentage.
Hollingworth's weekend totals include going four-for-nine with five runs scored, five RBI, and seven walks. Her weekend was highlighted in the Jacks 7-3 series-opening victory, as she went two-for-three with two runs scored, two RBI, a homerun, and a walk.
Defensively, the second baseman recorded six putouts and assisted on three in her 10 total chances.
