Coyotes' Rachel Figg and Golden Eagles' Ihsan Kalkan
SAN RAMON – Cal State San Bernardino junior Rachel Figg and Cal State LA junior Ihsan Kalkan were selected the California Collegiate Athletic Asssociation Women's and Men's Soccer Players of the Week, respectively, for the week of Oct. 3-9.
Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Figg, a midfielder from Fontana, scored two goals on the weekend to help the Coyotes snag two narrow wins against Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State this past weekend.
Figg scored the Coyotes first goal, the equalizer, in the 17th minute of Friday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Pioneers. Sunday she socred the game-winning goal at 51:20 in a 1-0 win over the Warriors.
On the weekend, Figg collected four points and was four-for-five in shots on goal.
The Coyotes have now won six straight and have taken control of second place in the most recent CCAA standings.

Men's Soccer Player of the Week
Kalkan, a defender out of Germany, led the Golden Eagles to a pair of shutout wins against No. 20 Cal State Dominguez Hills and Chico State.
Kalkan opened the scoring in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Toros with a spectacular free kick goal, the eventual game winner, just three minutes into the game.
He then led a stout defensive effort less than 48 hours later on Friday, when he helped LA to a 1-0 win at Chico State.
Kalkan and his backline teammates limited their opponents to just eight shots on goal and secured the program's sixth shutout this season.
