2011-12 CCAA All-Academic Awards
WALNUT CREEK - A total of 480 student-athletes were named California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Academic for the 2011-12 academic year, commissioner Robert J. Hiegert announced on Wednesday.
Leading the pack was UC San Diego with 86 student-athletes recieving All-Academic honors. The remaining 11 institutions had between 48 and 23 student-athletes who made the list.
To be eligible student-athletes must meet the following criteria:
1) Varsity student-athlete (must have earned a varsity letter
per institutional criteria - e.g., no red-shirt student-athletes
are eligible for this award)
2) Must be a student-athlete in one of the 12 CCAA-sponsored
sports (men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer,
women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's basketball, women's
basketball, men's golf, men's outdoor track & field, women's
outdoor track & field, baseball, and softball)
3) Grade point average for the 2011-12 academic year of 3.40 or higher in a minimum of 24 semester/36 quarter units completed at the certifying institution. Non-graded units may be included in the 24/36 unit total.
