UC San Diego's Natasha Belak-Berger Named Brine/CCAA Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK — UC San Diego forward Natasha Belak-Berger has been named the Brine California Collegiate Athletic Association Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 29 – Oct. 5.

Belak-Berger, a senior from Thousand Oaks, Calif., sparked the Tritons to a pair of victories over 12th-ranked Sonoma State and Humboldt State. The two wins moved UC San Diego into a first-place tie with Cal State Dominguez Hills in the CCAA’s South Division.

Belak-Berger made the most over her opportunities as she scored three goals on four shots.

After trailing 1-0 at halftime against the nationally-ranked Seawolves, Belak-Berger scored the equalizer in the 69th minute that forced overtime. She came back to score the game-winner in the second overtime period that gave the Tritons a 2-1 victory.

Belak-Berger came back on Sunday to score another goal in UC San Diego’s 3-0 victory over Humboldt State.

The Tritons are next on the pitch when they on Friday when they travel to Turlock to take on Cal State Stanislaus.
