Chico State's Cruikshank wins Heptathlon

SAN FRANCISCO --- CHICO STATE’s Elle Cruikshank rallied on day two of the Heptathlon to capture the championship in the event at the 2007 CCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium.

Cruikshank tallied 4,753 points, beating out UC SAN DIEGO’s Linda Rainwater (4,610) and Kayleigh Knudson (4,088).

Whitney Johnson set a new UCSD record in winning the long jump with a leap of 19-05.50.

Highlight preliminary action, CAL STATE STANISLAUS’ Joel Stallworth turned in the fastest time in Division II with a time of 46.09 in the 400-meter.
